Solidarity Targeted Activities Run by Rising Youth - STARRY - is an ESC Humanitarian Aid Volunteering project with Building Bridges Association from Spain, Saglam Dusunce Gencler Teskilati Ictimai Birliyi from Azerbaijan, Isaaf Jerada Solidarité et Développement from Morocco, Volunteers Initiative Nepal from Nepal, Brigada de Voluntarios Bolivarianos del Peru from Peru, Assalam Community Foundation from Tanzania and Egitim Programlari ve Evrensel ve Kulturel Aktiviteler Dernegi from Turkiye. Within STARRY, we aim to intervene the humanitarian challenges in Azerbaijan, Morocco, Nepal, Peru and Tanzania with 56 volunteers in teams and individual volunteering activities for 24 months and make a long term impact inside and outside of the target groups as well as meet the needs of the volunteers for their personal, social, occupational and cultural development with Non-Formal Education tools.
STARRY will rise upon the communities to:
- provide quality education for children and develop women initiatives in the Kinalig Village, the most remote and the highest spot of Azerbaijan
- support affected children by the Al Haouz earthquake in Morocco for their better psychology and proper education
- reinforce women initiatives in Okhaldhunga, the Everest region in Nepal
- strengthen the women's resilience to defend their rights against violence in Lima, Peru
- give a support for education of children and vocational education of women and contribute to providing healthy food for the communities by practising permaculture in Zanzibar, Tanzania
Before and during the activities, we will support our volunteers (28 with fewer opportunities) with the Non-Formal Education tools for their personal, social, occupational and cultural developments. There will be online and physical events in each country to have a great impact. With the latest digital tools, we will elaborate the website and the social media channels of the project to magnify the effects and widen the scope of the project.
